  • This program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to practice emergency pre-hospital medical/trauma care and to function as an integral member of the health-care team in assisting victims of injury or illness. Graduates of the program will have demonstrated the ability to safely and competently care for individuals of all ages, in emergency and non-emergency situations and to administer emergency treatment and care measures. The program provides a rich learning environment that utilizes classroom education, immersive simulation, various inter-professional exercises, and clinical exposure to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and critical thinking for proficiency within the critical care and community care environments. Clinical work-integrated learning (WIL) at a hospital and field site with an ambulance service allows students the opportunity to assess emergency patient needs based on factors such as condition, severity, age, stress and anxiety.   • The Advanced Systems Management and Cybersecurity diploma program includes 10 free certification examination vouchers (including Microsoft and CompTIA) as well as a 16-week field placement for students to gain direct hands-on experience.

    The Advanced Systems Management and Cybersecurity program will provide students with the skills and knowledge to pursue certifications and careers in server and network administration, and cybersecurity. Students receive training on enterprise operating systems including Microsoft Windows Server and Linux in addition to learning how to configure and secure network infrastructures based on industry best practices. Students will learn how to properly manage Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL server, as well as how to automate administration using PowerShell (Microsoft) and the Bash shell (Linux). The program also covers the procedures and technologies that can be used to secure access to data and respond to security breaches.

Veterinary, Animal Services Programs

  • A Dairy Herdsperson is a person who is responsible for the maintenance, health, nutrition, and breeding of dairy cows. They perform herd health procedures, routine herd maintenance, and operate and maintain barn mechanical systems and farm equipment.

    480 hours (20% of program hours) of in-school training is required, which will focus primarily on the theory you need to support the skills in the Training Standard. The in-school training component is delivered, in-person, by the Atlantic Business College.
